Shadow Priest Rotation Help!!!
This is currently my rotation that I made for myself trying to max out dps and use all aspects of the Shadow priest talent tree. I Mindflay x2 (For Evangelism),Archangel (If of CD), Mindspike x3 (For full mindblast increase), Mindblast, VT, DP, SWP and at 25% I spam SWD and use Mindspike as much as possible. So to summarize:
MF x2>Archangel>Mindspike x3>Mindblast>VT>DP>SWP>SWD at 25%
Sometimes this seems to work well, but at other times it doesnt. My biggest issue is the major mana use for just one cycle in the rotation....The Dots cost WAY too much mana.
Any sugjestions or tweeks to the rotation would be appreciated! THANKS!
MF x2>Archangel>Mindspike x3>Mindblast>VT>DP>SWP>SWD at 25%

My first question would be what are you using this rotation on? Questing/soloing? Dungeons? Boss fights?
Not to be mean but you're doing it wrong. Mind spike shouldn't be used on long fights like bosses because it removes your dots and gives you nothing in return.
You should open with something like this:
SW:P>VT>DP>Shadow Fiend>MB (hopefully with an orb)>Mind Flay filer
Keep VT and DP up, recast them near the end of their duration (Dots won't clip now!). After you've used Mind Blast with a Shadow Orb remember to reapply VT and DP and cast Mind Flay so that your dots will have your damage bonus.
If you find yourself having mana problems add SW:D to your rotation. You'll lose some DPS, but you'll gain more mana. Otherwise cast SW:D after DP in your priority at 25% or less.
You should use Arch Angel after your shadow fiend disappears and your mana is around 70% to make sure your keeping your mana high. This will change once we have more mana to work with but for now it's just using your cool downs properly.
Happy Dpsing.

Using it in long fights is one of the best things you can do. If you use the rotation I set up you get the Mindspike and Mindblast increase and do not lose dots for the most part. They still tick quite a few times before reapplying mind spike.
Seems a huge waste to mindspike and dot.
Then it makes either ur dots or ur mindspike ability useless......soooo idk
To add to Shadowmarths comment Mind Spike really is only good for questing/soloing and trash mobs.
The rotation he states is what I use when I DPS on bosses. However its a DPS increase to wait for at least one Orb before using Mind Blast for the Empowered Shadow buff. There is info at the EJ forums about this.
I also have another rotation that I use on trash/questing. Try it out I find that using this rotation keeps my mana up pretty well.
Mind Spike x2 > VT > SW:P > Mind Blast > Mind Flay > SW:D at around 20%.
There is also 2 very important glyphs for mana regen, Dispersion and Spirit Tap. Those glyphs really do help to keep your mana pool up. If you do glyph Spirit Tap you need to get the killing blow with SW:D in order to get the mana regen, so keep that in mind.
2 other ways to get mana back is to make sure to never Mind Blast before using VT. Having VT up then using MB will proc replenishment. Lastly if you spec Machocism when you damage yourself with SW:D you also get 10% of your mana back.
Lastly make sure to use Archangel when you have 5 stacks of Evangelism, the button will light up when you do. Good luck.
