New cataclysm zones at 78?
It is possible to enter Mount Hyjal and Vashj'ir at level 78, but you won't be able to do any of the quests, so there isn't much of a point.
how about level 79? i dont want to do icecrown or storm peaks again. i want the new !@*! i paid for.
78-80 is easy and very quick just get on with it and outta the forum you'll get there today...
No, you can't get into the zones at 78, 77, or 79. You get the quest(s) to go to the new zone(s) at level 80 and up. No level below.

You need to be level 80 to get quests in Cataclysm.
78-80 takes 4 or 5 hours once you get down to it. Just get 'er done.

Same here.
Just because you bought the expansion doesn't mean you get to go to those new zones whenever you want.
And if you really hated Northrend I wonder how much enjoyment you'd actually get out of Cataclysm anyway.

i was joking but ugghhh....
i was hoping it would be like the other expansions where you could start at 58-68 but nope.
its just not fun to do wotlk zones any more even if i only have to put another 4 hours in.

i just want to know why they changed it from the previous expansions at this point. im already starting on my monotonous grind. =(
You can't go at 78 because the Cataclysm mobs have far, far higher health than WotLK mobs and Cataclysm gear has far, far higher stats than WotLK gear.
If they let you in at 78, you'd be curb-stomped.
