same sex RP relationships

I just wanted to know if this was an acceptable thing where lore is concerned. Im not asking for myself and I know its not something that Kaldorei lore does not allow. I'm asking because I've noticed a large influx of Sindorei same sex RP relationships.

Is it accepted lore wise for them or is it just a case of "every Blood elf is played by a guy"?
