Hello guys!
After taking a look at the sub-class section of every class and noticing that we are the only ones without any stickies, I thought maybe I could create one just to aid hunters who want a quick guide in beginning their PvP experience.

Disclaimer: I do not at any period in time or space claim to be a good hunter, everytime I think I know everything there is to know about the hunter class, someone less or more experienced than me turns and surprises me with a new trick!

    2.Gear, gems, and enchants!
-Please note that in PvP you need about 180 Spell penetration, sometimes about 200, hence why I use 4 Stormy Ocean sapphire. And also you must get a Pyrium weapon chain or you will be disarmed for 10 seconds. Lastly, Engimatic Shadowspirit diamond reduces the duration of snares on you by 10% and in the future (with all snares being reduced to 8 seconds, snares will last about 7 seconds!![/b]
-Also you need 5% hit rating. Once you hit that treshhold, reforge all the other secondary stats to Critical strike rating (especially for MM)
-Gear: This is based on the most optimal (starter! Setup!)

    3. Pets: Please note that my advice on pet choice is projected for the upcoming changes (monkeys losing their stun in place of a blind)

My recommended pets are as follows:
  • Moth: 4 second interrupt – 1 minute cooldown
Scorpid: Disarm – 1 minute cooldown
Bat: 2 second disarm 45 second cooldown
Monkey: 4 second blind – 45 second cooldown
    Wasp: 2 second stun
Exotic pets: Core hound, Chimera, Devilsaur!

  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4. MacrosI use the following macros all of the specs I provided with exception to a few being obviously exlusive to their respective spec:
  • /cast [target=focus,exists][] silencing shot
    /cast [target=focus,exists][] wyvern sting
    /cast [target=focus,exists][] intimidation
    /cast [taget=YOUR NAME] intervene
/cast [taget=YOUR NAME] roar of sacrifice
    /cast [taget=YOUR NAME] Master’s call
    /cast [target=mouseover,exists][] silencing shot
    /cast [target=mouseover,exists][] wyvern sting
    /cast [target=mouseover,exists][] intimidation
    /cast [target=mouseover,exists][] scatter shot

  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.Quick tips:
  • Never use your PvP trinket against a rogue when he uses cheap shot, wait for kidney shot

You can cast roar of sacrifice and master’s call on friendly targets so dont be greedy; you ssee a healer getting beat on, use /cast [target=mouseover] roar of sacrifice

  • More tips will eventually follow!
