Easiest Spirit Beast
What is the easiest (fastest) to obtain Spirit Beast, and why?

Really, TBH, none are really easy. I would say Arcturis being he only has one spawn site but there are always alot of hunters Camping him. I would try for Skoll or Gondria due to three is less traffic in those areas at one time.
Gondria is the easiest by far. On the 2 servers I have hunters on, I got 2 of my hunters Gondria within 1 day of camping. I've actually whispered random hunters about taming her 4 times, since I see her so often just flying by as well. Zul'drak is just a quiet zone.
I've seen her 3 times at the spot west of mam'toth, once at the mam'toth spot, twice at the spot south of quetz'lun, and once at the spot behind altar of har'koa. Just to give you an idea of where to camp.
I imagine Loque and Skoll are the hardest. One: they look the best to many hunters, and 2, they're at popular farming spots, one for miners/herbalists, and the other for the time lost proto drake.

Im going for the spirit bear myself ^_^ So dont you xfer to Black Dragonflight and keep me from it! xD But in all honesty, he is the easiest to obtain due to the single spawn point, as said before.
Gondria.

This website which is completely built around hunter pets says there are 2 spirit beasts that common or easily attainable. Ghost sabers spawning from the little statues in Darkshore (uncommon but easy get one) and the Cursed Offspring of Har'koa in Zul'Drak.
Is this site incorrect for current content (meaning it won't change until cataclysm) or are hunters just not noticing this change?
Edit: I only ask because my hunter isn't high enough to check on the Cursed Offspring and I don't feel like running out to Darkshore to check on a pet I may not even be able to use yet.

Neither of those are actual "Spirit Beasts". They may have cool skins but neither will have the healing ability that Spirit Beasts get.

You're misunderstanding that page. The first four and last two are the only spirit beasts. The others are just beasts that look similar to the spirit beasts. For example, click on the Cursed Offspring and you can see it's listed with the cats.
Arcturis.
I camped Arcturis for 19 hours, and didn't end up getting him until the server crashed by chance. Logged in, and there he was. None of them are easy, in fact they're all God-awful to camp. I've been camping Skoll for about 2 weeks now; killed Vyragosa 2 times and seen TLPD corpse once. No sightings of Skoll yet.
Roll a warlock, they get their pets without hundreds of hours of camping, and they don't have to level them. And they can rez them 5x better. QQ

Now, I am sort of biased, but the two I have are Gondria and Skoll. Now for Gondria, I was out looking for her, but didn't find her. Logged out, came back later, and while flying back to Dal, happened to come across her. For Skoll, was out camping her for 4 hours, no luck, was in the middle of traveling to check the other spawn points, and happened to come across the TLPD. Not feeling well, went to bed, and woke up around 4:30 EST. Logged back on, sat above the Engine of the Makers spawn point for an hour, nothing. Flew a circle above the rest of the spawns, nothing. Got back to the Engine of the Makers, and there she was, in all her beautiful blue wolfiness beauty. Yes, I would say I got quite lucky for both of them, but knowing the way they spawn, I would say the bear is the easiest to get, with Gondria being close behind.
I have all 4 Spirit Beasts. And I camped 3 of them. The only Spirit Beast that I found on accident was Gondria. I found her while I was lvling this toon. I didn't really have the space for her at the time so I tried to find a hunter to tame her. No one around so I said that I'd tame her if I got my hunter out there, and she was still alive.
I haven't seen her since in the wild. But she was the only Spirit Beast that I didn't have to go insane to camp. Loque'nahak was my longest camp. It took me a week and 2 dead bodies before I tamed him. Skoll took a few days as he never spawned at his "popular" spawn point. And Arcturis took 2 days of solid camping as the first time an Alliance Hunter killed him as I was taming. (I checked to make sure I saw the bear first, btw.)
But you have to think about traffic of the areas and achievements. Loque is in Frostbitten plus Sholazar Basin, which is a farming zone. He's likely to be killed and skinned while you're patting. Skoll spawns along the TLPD path meaning that hunters and TLPD hunters will be out on that path. And even though he isn't in Frostbitten, everyone loves the thrill of killing a rare. Arcturis has 1 spawn point. That means that 1-3 hunters will be already camping there or checking in while you're out there. This increases the chances of you getting griefed. Plus Arcturis easily has the longest respawn at 12 hours, which can be up to 3 days.
This leaves Gondria. She's in a fairly unpopulated zone. Since the advent of dungeon lvling, there are just less people in lvling zones. She has several spawn points. But she is the least likely to be spotted by a random player that will just kill her.
So considering all of the information, I would camp in this order: Gondria, Arcturis, Skoll, and Loque. If I had to do it all over again. As it were when I could get Exotics, Gondria was the new Spirit Beast. I chose Loque since he wasn't as common on my server.

Gondria, definitely. As stated above, Loque is in a popular farm zone and Skoll is in a popular zone for the kinds of people who'd be running NPCScan. Arcturis has only one spawn point, and a lengthy 21 hour spawn.
Gondria is in somewhat unpopular land, and has a typical rare timer, not to mention is probably the least popular SB.

Edit: Arcturis varies. Since he has one spawn spot, you'd think he'd be easy. However, other hunters have the same idea. If you're on a low pop server it's likely you'll be alone, but if you're on a high pop there will be about 3 other hunters accompanying you at all times.
Really? Been trying for Gondria for ages.. Can't seem to get him to pop. Got the bear and King Krush the same day =/
I've been camping skoll for a week, as have some alliance hunters on my server and no one has seen him once. And trust me, we've got all 24hrs of the day covered. I think his spawn timer is broken :(
Any except Loque. Gondria is probably the easiest.
Q u o t e:

Gondria.
1. Area not heavily farmed.
2. Easy to check spawn points.
3. Not heavily camped.
I'm currently camping Gondria and though I haven't tamed him yet, I can see this one seems like it will be easier to nab. The area has very little traffic compared to the other beasts' areas and the spawn points are not too far away from each other.
Arcturis has one spawn point but it is RIGHT next to a flight point and in a heavily traveled area. There are constantly 2-3 hunters hanging around and several fly by all the time. He doesn't last long, so you'll probably not just happen upon him...it takes some time spent camping and waiting. I'm lucky I got him.
Loque is in a very popular area for farming/questing and all of his spawn points seem to be set right in the middle of mobs of other beasts that people like to farm. Also, his various spawn points are spread out all over the area, so making rounds through them takes a lot of time. However, I've heard he has a more liberal spawn rate...don't know if that's true or not...but I do know more people who have tamed him than any of the other spirit beasts.
Skoll I know little about because I haven't hit that level yet.

I have all 4 of the spirit beasts, and based from my experience :
Loque :
- Has most amount of possible spawn points among the spirit beasts. Also they are practically scattered all over the zone.
- Part of Frostbitten achievement. Depending on the amount of achievement hunters in your server, this may or may not be a significant hindrance.
- In most servers, Sholazar is a popular place for farmers (very abundant cloths, herbs, ores, fish, engineering clouds, leather, etc), both legit and botters alike.
Arcturis :
- Has one possible spawn point. This can be both a blessing and a curse. One spawn point means he is easy to CAMP (don't have to roam around, can alt-tab etc), but it doesn't necessarily mean that he is the easiest to get. In fact, Arcturis is usually the one spirit beast where people (including me) has the most encounter with jerks, such as another player/hunter deciding to steal the tame when you have already started the taming process first, usually ending up in the mob being killed instead and nobody gets to tame.
- Very close to flight point/Alliance questing hub. Also due to this, among the 3 spirit beasts that are not included in the Frostbitten achievement, Arcturis tends to be killed the most "on accident", meaning that the person was usually under impression that Arcturis is not part of Frostbitten achievement.
- Said to have the longest spawn reset timer among the spirit beasts.
Skoll :
- Crosses with the path of TLPD. Depending on the amount of TLPD hunters and achievement hunters (for Vyragosa) on your server, this may or may not be a hindrance.
- Storm Peaks used to be frequented by other players when Brunnhildar, Hodir, Jewelcrafting, and Argent Tournament dailies were popular, but probably less so these days.
- Spawn points are not very close to each other. However, still nothing compared to Loque.
Gondria :
Zul'drak, especially the part where Gondria spawns, is much less frequented than Sholazar and Storm Peaks. This also lessens the amount of "accidental kill" significantly. I can not any disadvantage that Gondria has in comparison with the other spirit beasts.
For me personally, the order of difficulty goes as : Loque (most roaming and competition) > Skoll (much roaming) = Arcturis (much griefing and competition) > Gondria

The Spirit Beasts we have in game as of now are so rare mostly due to the mechanics of the way the rare spawns work and how many other rares share the area. Only one rare spawn can be up in one zone at a time, lasting untill killed, tamed or despawns. This causes several of these animals to only be able to spawn anywhere around 30 min to 12 hours. Which one spawns is also still completely random.
Loque'nahak is extremely hard to spot, as there are SEVERAL other rares in the area and he lives in a very heavy traffic zone. I have found him twice to the left of the Nessingwary camp and once by the monkeys in the south east close to where you will see Pitch (the black cat).
Gondria also shares a zone with several other rare spawns but is also a less traffic zone. Meaning if she is not out, you will have to wait untill the others either despawn or are killed. This could take awhile. I spent at least 11 hours to track her.
Skoll is in a heavy traffic area and shares a zone with other rares. His most common hotspot is dirrectly in the paths other players will be searching for Time Lost Proto Drake. If they see this beautiful animal, they will probably stop long enough to kill it.
Arctricus only has one spawn point and is in fact the easiest Spirit Beast to tame. You may have competition from other hunters but we are lucky enough that he is in a low traffic zone.
I would suggest that you go and get a couple addons that have helped me: silverdragon and handynotes. both should be available on wowinterface.com
These addons combined will mark the spawn location of every rare in the area on your map and mini map and will target, mark and alert you with sound if you come close to one. Once they are found however, you will need to delete your cache file in your wow folder. This includes standing close to other hunters with these animals.
I hope this helps, good luck in your travels. Remember, dont get discouraged. Finding these animals is more luck than skill.
Dont forget, we are going to see more spirit beasts in Cata!
