Azure Whelpling
So I have a hunch...
When Cata comes and Ashazara is turned into a lowbie zone and those level 50 elite dragon kin vanish. I just have a feeling that Blizzard is going to update the drop tables of the blue elite dragon kin in Winter Spring south of Everlook to drop the Azure Whelpling. The elite dragon kin there are the same level, and populate roughly the same area size, above ground and in a cave. Seen the crazy prices on the AH for the pet, 9-10K, even 14K. Spent 2 hours of killing non stop in Ashazara, and got one and sold it for a modest 5K, to cover what I need yet for my Mechno Hog.
Only a hunch, but its likely what Blizzard will do, otherwise people hoarding them up to sell them for even higher prices after Cata if the pet just becomes no longer obtainable.
I already have a green one that I kept, was herbing in SOS, needed to clear some Whelps to get at a herb, and it dropped. No more than like 2 or 3 kills. Took like 500 kills to get the Azure Whelping that I sold. 2 hours of work, 5K G. Not a bad night. Remember when you could get one of those Whelp pets for like 500G back in BC, not any more lol

I remember once seeing a black whelp on the ah for 90g....I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT OAMDFL;KAJSD;LFKJ

The whelpling will still be obtainable in Cataclysm. We just don't know how, but Blizzard has said it's staying.
