Anyone else want Blizzard to stir the pot?

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I still love WoW, I do. I think the choices Blizzard makes are in the best interests of their intellectual property and the players of said IPs. Some (a lot) of choices made in regard to WoW have been called in to question, but over the years I think it has become the best MMO on the market, and the numbers don't lie. I've tried a lot of other MMOs, but I always come back to WoW, because no other game out there has the shear polish across the board, where damn near everything just works. That being said, it's time for some drastic changes.

Choices have to be made that not all players would like. The choice for Pandaren to be dual faction was along this line. I had the same idea pre-cata for goblins. I think saving it for the Pandaren was a good choice. I also look forward to MoP, unlike a lot of the squeaky wheels on these forums.

Some other ideas I've had (and I know this one has been said before in the general forums, but I feel it needs reiterating) is the fractionizing of the factions. I know the idea is ingrained that the ally races are ally, and the horde races are horde, but the lore is so much richer, I don't think it needs to be so ingrained and unchangeable, mix it up! Or even better, take some from each and create a third faction! Also, work on the world PvP, even if it is in PvP areas such as WG and BH, which I don't care for, but if they were done right, they would be amazing! I think of the keeps from Warhammer. A game filled with great ideas in a mediocre game.

Bring back faction specific armor! We want to be different from our opposition! Bring back faction camaraderie! Bring back pride in your faction! Remove resilience! Let the people feel powerful, even if it means high burst, balance pvp in other matters than muting our awesomeness. I think I have more but rambled a little bit there and lost my train of thought.

The main point is, I think it is time to make some drastic choices. If you want to remain the best in times where amazing games are on the horizon (SWTOR for some; I personally don’t think I can get as in to a SciFi MMO as I can a Fantasy MMO; I tried it for a month and it was fun, but not good enough to sub to) Guild Wars 2, Tera, Vindictus, and many more I’m sure others can name that don’t come to mind right away, interesting, unexpected choices need to be made.

Anyone else with constructive comments or ideas feel free to post, those without constructive input, we know you’ll post anyway, so have at it. :)

Anyway, love the work, keep it up, and looking forward to MoP and D3!

WoW ain't gonna keep up, I am already enjoying SWTOR much more. WoW's engine is simply 7 years old, and it's plagued by it's old game mechanics.

To be honest I don't care if WoW "dies" or not, I just care if what I play is good or not. You don't have to be a fanboy of anything, just play what you like.

having 3 factions might actually get me to pvp. another thought i had... instead of buffing guards ridiculously, why not just make certain npc's not attackable?

want more world pvp in cities? make all ah people friendly to everybody - reward for pvping in enemy's city is if nobody stops you then you can buy stuff in their ah. so many people have alts on both factions that the seperation has become a joke

Don't get me wrong, I don't really care if it dies, if I have fun alternatives. I don't, at the moment. SWTOR isn't my bag (no worries if someone enjoys it, I don't bag on people for having different opinions) but right now no other fantasy MMO is fun. I'm anticipating Tera and Guild Wars 2, and I've heard good things about Vindictus, although the YT vids didn't look promising (to me) so, why not have Blizzard, whom I trust to make good, quality, fun games, innovate on a title that will be around for decades regardless if we aren't playing it? You know there will still be diehards. Hell, if Ultima Online and EQ are still around (EQ still in the 6 figures? Last I knew they were still over 100k, which may not be a lot in comparison to WoW, but it is still profitable and was a lot back in the day of EQs time, not to mention FFXI as well, which is still running, despite FFXIV delivering a blow to the FF name.) So it isn't so much a "OMG don't let my MMO die" thread, just looking for the best minds in MMO'ing to make some choices to better their game that would make people go "WTF!" and then love it because it was a radical out-of-the-norm choice.
