I've made a new lock, got him decently geared (4.5k ish resil). but I'm finding it really hard to counter melee. I go demon armor, i use howl, shadowflame slow, port... but they get back on me within 2-3 seconds. I find myself battling to gain distance as my partners are trying their best to peel them off me. And I cant put all dots up or fear as I'm busy running away to survive. Bottom line, our pressure goes away and we get very defensive and finally I die.

So the question is, how do I deal with melee?

Learn to cast while being beat on. Honestly you'll never be free of a melee's grip for too long and casting only when you're free of having to juke will result in no pressure.

Generally, if it's double melee, you simply have to tank at least one of them while the other is beating on you. Circumstances are sometimes different as people can get both peeled for a short amount of time (like having a mage hexed and a rogue cripp'd while you go to work on the priest against a PMR), but usually, you're going to have at least one of those opponents beating on your face.
